John 1:5
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
그 빛이 빛났다 어둠속에서, 그러나 어두움이 그 빛을 깨닫지 못했다.

in the weather 비바람이 몰아치는 곳에
in the sun 양지에
in the rain(snow)
in the distance 먼곳에
in the shade 그늘에서
in the rains 장마철에 (in the rainy season)



The light shines in (or through) the dark.

The darkness has not comprehended (or overcome, mastered,overpowered) it.
어두이 그 빛을 이기지 못했다.

The darkness has not put it out.
*put out 불을 끄다.(=extinguish=quench)
